    Ricardo Solano Jr. is a member of Friedman, Kaplan, Seiler & Adelman LLP, where he represents individuals and corporations in the healthcare, financial, construction, and other industries in matters involving allegations of fraud, bribery, false claims, violations of FDA regulations, tax evasion, and money laundering. Prior to joining Friedman Kaplan, Mr. Solano served as First Assistant Attorney General of the State of New Jersey from 2008 to 2010, where, as the State’s second highest-ranking prosecutor, he was responsible for oversight of the Division of Criminal Justice, Division of Law, Division of Consumer Affairs, and Gaming Enforcement.  He also previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2001 to 2006, where he prosecuted cases involving violations of federal anti-corruption and bribery statutes, mail fraud, tax evasion, export control law violations, pharmaceutical and other product diversion schemes, and cyberstalking.

    Mr. Solano also serves as a Trustee for both the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey.  He has previously taught, as an adjunct professor, a seminar on criminal sentencing at Seton Hall University School of Law.  In addition, Mr. Solano has lectured on numerous topics, including healthcare fraud investigations, the use of electronic evidence in criminal cases, and criminal defense attorney ethics.  

    Mr. Solano received his law degree summa cum laude in 1998 from Seton Hall University School of Law and his BA in Philosophy and Political Science from New York University in 1995.  After law school, he clerked for former New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Deborah T. Poritz, and then for the Hon. Maryanne Trump Barry of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
